Who I am
I am an author and a Bible teacher. I use my website primarily to write blogs and promote my books. My website address is: https://claytonhowardford.com/. You may contact me at clayton@claytonhowardford.com.
Why I collect personal data
I use Google Analytics to record, compile, and provide me with reports on my website visitors. How Google uses information from sites or apps that use my services is located here:
www.google.com/policies/privacy/partners/
and here:
https://business.safety.google/privacy
The Google Analytics privacy policy is available here:
https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/6004245?hl=en.
You can opt out of the Google Analytics Advertising Features by adding the browser add-on found here:
https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout
When visitors leave comments on the site I collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.
If you email me, I will have possession of your email address and any other personal information you may disclose in the email.
Cookies
I use cookies to personalize content and ads, to provide social media features and to analyze my traffic. I also share information about your use of my site with my social media, advertising and analytics partners who may combine it with other information that you’ve provided to them or that they’ve collected from your use of their services.
When you first come to the site, you are asked for your consent to use cookies. You may accept all cookies, deny all cookies, or set your preferences.
If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.
Embedded content from other website
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.
Who we share your data with
I share the data with Google Analytics and the Gravatar service. See the section under “Why I collect personal data.”
How long we retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
If you email me, I will erase the email after no more than six months after our correspondence is finished.
What rights you have over your data
If you have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data I hold about you, including any data you have provided to me. You can also request by email to clayton@claytonhowardford.com that I erase any personal data I hold about you. This does not include any data I am obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
Where your data is sent
Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service. Also, see the section, “Why I collect personal data.”
